How To Make Matcha

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Matcha Bowl:

• Use the cotton liner to ensure the matcha bowl is clean and free of any dust.
• Warm the matcha bowl by pouring hot water into it and swirling it around. Discard the water and dry the bowl.

2. Sift the Matcha Powder:

• Use the tea sifter to sift 1–2 scoops of matcha powder into the bowl.
• This helps remove clumps and creates a smooth, fine texture for better mixing.

3. Measure the Matcha:

• Use the bamboo scoop to measure 1–2 scoops (about 1.5–2 grams) of matcha powder.
• Adjust the amount depending on how strong you want your matcha.

4. Add Hot Water:

• Heat water to around 175°F (80°C)—not boiling, as boiling water can burn the matcha and ruin the flavor.
• Pour about 2–3 ounces (60–90 ml) of hot water into the bowl.

5. Whisk the Matcha:

• Hold the bamboo whisk vertically and whisk the matcha in a zig-zag motion (like writing the letter “M”).
• Whisk quickly to create a frothy layer on top.
• Use the whisk holder to rest the whisk when not in use.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

• Your matcha is now ready! You can drink it directly from the matcha bowl or pour it into a cup.

Tips for Best Results:

• Clean and dry all tools after use to maintain their quality.
• Experiment with water-to-matcha ratios to suit your taste.
• Enjoy your matcha fresh and immediately after preparation!
